Amount in Arabic words (tafqit)

Tafqit writes an amount in Arabic words with the currency and its fractions, ending in «فقط لا غير» ("only") so nothing can be added after it. Type the amount and pick the currency; the words appear at once, exactly as Ta3mir prints them on payment certificates and invoices.

Amount in words

مائة وخمسة وعشرون ألف جنيه مصري وخمسون قرش فقط لا غير

Method, step by step

  1. The amount is first rounded to the currency's smallest unit: hundredths (piastre, halala) or thousandths for the Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinar, the Omani rial and the Libyan dinar.
  2. The whole number is split into groups of three digits (billions, millions, thousands, units) and each group is written in words with its scale.
  3. The currency name follows, then the fraction in words with the minor unit, and the sentence ends in «فقط لا غير».

Frequently asked questions

What does «فقط لا غير» mean?

It closes an amount written in words on cheques, invoices and certificates, so no words or figures can be added after it.

How do I write an amount in Saudi riyals?

Pick Saudi riyal (SAR) and type the amount; halalas follow the riyals. 2,500.75 reads «ألفان وخمسمائة ريال سعودي وخمسة وسبعون هللة فقط لا غير».

Can I use it on cheques and certificates?

Yes. It is the same spelling Ta3mir prints on certificates and invoices; check the text before signing, as with any financial document.

Certificates and invoices with the amount in words

Ta3mir prints the net amount of every certificate and invoice in words with this same spelling, so you never type it by hand.
