Daily site report template for site engineers
A daily site report on one printable Excel sheet, free and with no sign-up. It records what happened on site today: who came, which equipment worked, what was done, what materials arrived and what held the work up.
Free, with no sign-up and no email · Excel file (xlsx) in Arabic, right-to-left, ready to print
Why write a daily site report?
- A written record of labour and equipment to go back to for daily wages and subcontractor checks.
- Evidence of delay causes (power cuts, weather, waiting for approval) to support an extension of time request.
- Daily quantities done, so the certificate take-off is faster and more accurate.
- Materials received with their delivery note numbers, before the supplier invoices arrive.
What is in the file?
- One right-to-left sheet, set to print on A4 portrait.
- The day details at the top, then six tables: labour, equipment, work done, materials received, delays and obstacles, and visits and instructions.
- One or two example lines per table marked «مثال», and automatic totals for the labour count and delay hours.
- Space for general notes and signature boxes for the site engineer, the project manager and the consultant.
How to fill it, step by step
- Fill the day details at the top: project, date, weather and temperature, working hours.
- Delete the example lines and record the labour present, one line per trade and subcontractor.
- Record the equipment with working hours, idle hours and the idle reason.
- Write the work done today with quantities and location, and the materials received with their delivery note numbers.
- Never leave a delay without its cause, duration and responsible party, or a visit without its instructions.
- Print and sign the report, ask the consultant to sign if the contract requires it, and file it with the day's photos.

Example: a slab pour day
The first-floor slab pour, as in the example lines inside the file:
| Labour | 8 carpenters and 6 steel fixers, 8 hours |
|---|---|
| Equipment | A mixer idle for 2 hours waiting for gravel, and two vibrators |
| Work done | 42 m3 of first-floor slab concrete |
| Delay | 2-hour power cut, standby generator started |
| Visits | The consultant approved the pour after the rebar cover was fixed |
A month later, these lines are what proves why the work stopped for two hours and who approved the pour.
Practical notes
- Write the report the same day; a report written a week later carries little weight in a claim.
- Record idle hours of rented equipment apart from its working hours.
- File the day's photos under the report number and date.
Log the day from site in Ta3mir
In Ta3mir the site day is logged on the project itself with labour, equipment, delays and photos, and once the engineer signs it off any later edit is recorded.
